Description

Widely used by medical students studying for the USMLE Step 1, the Board Review Series (BRS) provides basic knowledge as it relates to clinical situations. BRS Genetics addresses a field that is increasingly taught in shorter courses. Chapters are written in an outline format and include pedagogical features such as bolded key words, tables, algorithms, and numerous illustrations, including a 16-page full-color insert. The book contains nearly 300 USMLE-style questions to help test students’ memorization and mastery.

User’s Reviews

Great review book and to the point. No need for another resource for step 1. The book offers most I need to know for step 1 and classes. Things that we have not covered in class are well explained. However for population genetics a more thorough read might be necessary for some but overall this book is great

I haven’t taken my Board exam yet, but I believe this is a good review and pre-test study guide for anyone who is a student of genetics. There is a good review, as well as many practice questions…everything you need to keep your knowledge fresh and to re-enforce those details that may be on the exam that have not stayed in the forefront of your memory. Definitely worth the price for the review!
