The present study is a master thesis in engineering at the Technical U niversity of Denmark (DTU ). The project is a collaboration between the intelligent signal processing group, department of Informatics Mathematics and Modelling (IMM), DTU and the Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance (DRCMR), Co- penhagen U niversity Hospital, Hvidovre. The principal supervisor of the project is Professor Lars K ai Hansen, IMM, DTU . The co-supervisor is PhD student Torben Ellegaard Lund, DRCMR. The present thesis summarizes part of the experiments carried out at DRCMR during the project period, which would not have been possible without the warm welcome and help from the staff at DRCMR. A special thanks to Torben Ellegaard Lund is appropriate for being more helpful than could be expected in planning, implementation, guidance and countless discussions during the project. Professor dr. phil.
