Description

When I wrote this book for the first time in the year 2005, I set out my goal to meet the demands of the opticians and the students of the optometry who wanted a very basic information on various aspects of Optical Dispensing which they wanted to know in very simple language. As a member of Himalaya Optical Group, I enjoy a special privilege in this sector to have access to various resources and facilities devoted to this front and also to new researches and developments of new technology and products, which I wanted to share with my peer group. I also realized the importance of basic information needed to work in the optical industry. I realized that optical industry is now more demanding than ever before and knowledge of the inherent quality features, together with knowledge of basic optics related to lens is now very much important. The irony was that there was no book available for such basic knowledge which may be used as ready reference. This is how I was prompted to write this book. This book is intended to provide the optician with all information to help demonstrate to their clients and patients and also a reference guide to students of optometry. The book is written in a very simple language. I believe the book is a good source of information for a number of basic information which we need in our day-to-day practice. However, I do not claim it to be complete source, but I have tried my best to include most of them. Ajay Kr Bhootra
