Description

This article evaluates the surgical results of medial rectus (MR) muscle recession combined with longitudinal splitting and surgical union of the lateral rectus (LR) and superior rectus (SR) muscles in highly myopic patients. The procedure targets severe strabismus fixus presenting as pronounced esotropia and hypotropia with restricted abduction and elevation. The findings suggest the method is effective when deviant paths of the LR and SR muscles are confirmed by imaging (MRI or CT scan).
