Description

This study investigates the feasibility of Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA) device placement in neonates by analyzing the time and number of attempts required, as well as physiologic stability during the procedure. Based on data from 36 infants (GA 29 3/7 to 35 4/7 weeks), the average procedure time was 88 seconds, with 69% successful on the first attempt. Physiologic parameters (heart rate and SaO2) showed minimal fluctuation, leading to the conclusion that LMA placement is feasible in neonates.
