This guideline updates the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG)/British Association for the Study of the Liver (BASL) Decompensated Cirrhosis Care Bundle (DCCB). It addresses the high in-hospital mortality (10%–20%) of acute decompensated cirrhosis (DC) and the need for a structured management approach. The update incorporates recent advances in care and develops a strategy to improve the national utilization of the care bundle.
