Respiratory sequelae of dengue fever (2023) Asad Mehmood

Description

This systematic review examines the respiratory manifestations of dengue fever, which are often overlooked compared to hematological and cardiovascular sequelae. Based on a literature search, common complications range from mild pleural effusion (5.1% of patients) to severe conditions like acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) (1.7%). The review highlights that involvement of the respiratory system indicates severe disease and requires early detection and careful management.
