This book explores the utilization and development of cancer biomarkers found in body fluids and circulation. It discusses how these biomarkers are crucial for companion diagnostics and personalized biotherapies, accelerating the early detection of cancer and enabling successful curative intent interventions.
A visually-enhanced, comprehensive review of fundamental medical biochemistry principles, designed to aid medical and allied health students in study and exam preparation.
This observational cohort study aimed to compare the long-term prognostic value of artificial intelligence–guided quantitative computed tomography ischemia (AI-QCTischemia) with hybrid coronary computed tomography angiography/positron emission tomography (CCTA/PET) myocardial perfusion imaging in suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). Symptomatic patients underwent CCTA with selective downstream PET. Results showed moderate-to-substantial agreement between the methods. Both ischemic CAD on hybrid CCTA/PET (HR, 2.35) and abnormal AI-QCTischemia (adjusted HR, 1.98) were independently predictive of adverse outcomes (death, MI, or unstable angina). The study concludes that the AI-QCTischemia algorithm demonstrated long-term prognostic value comparable to hybrid CCTA/PET perfusion imaging in suspected CAD.
A collection of the most significant and relevant medical literature ('Top Articles') compiled by long-time collaborators from the Abington Family Medicine Residency Program, designed to help primary care providers apply current research directly to patient care.
