With its focus on narrow band imaging, this book is an excellent reference for new as well as experienced practitioners in the field of endoscopy. Narrow band imaging has brought about a revolutionary improvement in diagnostic endoscopy, enabling objective diagnosis and precise detection of lesions. It has enhanced the capability of endoscopy to facilitate qualitative diagnoses for the great benefit of patients who undergo endoscopic examinations. However, a standardized system of classification has not yet been established, and many clinicians and researchers are not yet highly skilled in utilizing the technique or interpreting the images that are produced. This atlas addresses those issues, providing clear, simple, and easy-to-understand descriptions illustrated with generous use of endoscopic images.

  • Published: 2017
  • Number of pages:
  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 37.38 MB
  • Authors: Uwe Fischer and Friedemann Baum

Description

Breast Cancer: Diagnostic Imaging and Therapeutic Guidance provides a concise, practical, and practice-based source of up-to-date diagnostic and therapeutic information for the general radiologist. In the diagnostic phase of evaluating breast disorders, the overriding consideration in the examination and assessment is to reduce false diagnoses to the absolute minimum-a principle wholly in the interests of the patient. The particular diagnostic pathway chosen will depend on the highly variable individual presentations and the associated findings. A major focus of the book is the comparative value of the various diagnostic imaging modalities. As well as discussing conventional mammography and adjunct modalities such as breast ultrasound and galactography, the text also showcases the superior utility of contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging in providing the highest rate of detection of cancers at any stage. As well as radiological diagnosis, sections written by top specialists cover the interventional procedures for obtaining biopsies and also the surgical and medical therapy of breast carcinoma.

[PDF] Advanced Topics on Three-dimensional Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (2016) by Edward Araujo JĂşnior, Wellington de Paula Martins

Ebook Info

  • Published: 2016
  • Number of pages:
  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 37.74 MB
  • Authors: Edward Araujo JĂşnior, Wellington de Paula Martins

Description

Despite the fact that the beginning of 3-dimensional ultrasound was anything but easy, the past 26 years have shown that 3-dimensional/4-dimensional ultrasonography (3D/4D US) has experienced a tremendous development. In particular 3D/4D US has found widespread acceptance around the world since we organized the First World Congress for 3D Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology held in Mainz, Germany, in 1997. In the meantime 3D/4D ultra-sound has evolved into a powerful technique that can be integrated in every routine ultra-sound examination. In contrast to conventional 2-dimensional (2D) US that only allows imaging of single planes, 3D/4D US offers several render modes, image displays and storage capabilities that do not exist in 2D imaging. The most recent 3D/4D ultrasound technology facilitates 3D/4D ultrasound examinations even for the less experienced operator. There is no doubt that 3D/4D scanning requires a learning curve. However, once the principles and benefits of 3D/4D ultrasound are apprehended, the examiner has the opportunity to identify precisely normal and abnormal fetal or gynecological structures in the most appropriate imaging mode. It seemed evident therefore that given the many advances that had occurred in the last few years there was a need for a new 3D/4D textbook.
