Description

The field of critical care medicine is evolving quickly. To prepare for certification and refresh their knowledge, today’s practitioners need a concise multidisciplinary review that focuses on the core areas of critical care. Ideal for critical care fellows, critical care nurses, residents, and practitioners who spend time in the ICU, The MGH Review of Critical Care Medicine employs brief chapters on focused topics to help readers review core areas and test their knowledge.

I found this 2nd edition question book to be very helpful in covering the multiple topics on the board exam and overall had good explanations with the references. Of course, like most review books out there you have to watch out for mistakes (whether typos or they say the answer is B and you realize they meant C based on their reason, etc…) With what’s out there currently, I would definitely recommend using this as part of your “plan of action” for RITE or boards studying. What I did was set a goal for a certain number of questions to do/review per day over the course of exam prep–trust me some days you’ll exceed that and others you won’t but as long as you average out you know you can get those 1200 done and reviewed.

All you need to pass the Neurology shelf exam. This is a perfect resource. If you are weaker in some areas, you will need to look up some information – as sometimes the answer explanations do not go into incredible detail.
