Wish the springer texts used higher resolution photos, but can’t knock a star for it.

As a practicing pediatric pathologist who sees a fair amount of gastrointestinal pathology, there is no better reference for pediatric specific GI pathology. The pictures are nice, the tables are excellent and the authors are well known in our community for their relative GI expertise. The book is a little aged, with respect to certain modern diagnostics for various genetically associated disease, but like a fine wine, the book ages well.

I would say this is a must have for your office library if you see any amount of pediatric GI biopsies, liver or such.

Description

Pathology of Pediatric Gastrointestinal and Liver Disease provides the pediatric pathologist, the GI or general pathologist, and the pediatric gastroenterologist with the most complete and current reference on the subject. With an emphasis on clinical-pathological correlation, the book includes in-depth discussions on disorders and issues that are frequently encountered but for which up-to-date information is often not readily available, as well as infrequent disorders unique or specific to children that are not covered in standard texts. Among the topics considered are malabsorption and motility disorders, immunodeficiencies, including AIDS, developmental malformations, food allergies, cystic diseases of the liver, hepatic tumors, and esophageal and pancreatic disorders. Many new illustrations and electron micrographs are included in this edition, and the high-quality endoscopic and radiographic images permit ready correlation with the pathologic principles under discussion.

Description

This user-friendly book is a practical guide to the diagnosis of testicular tumors and rare tumors of the penis. It describes and illustrates pathology findings for each tumor type and provides information on clinical features, differential diagnosis, tumor staging, and prognostic factors. Since an effective dialogue between urologists and pathologists is essential for optimal patient care, due attention is paid to such aspects as the role of frozen section in the management of small testicular nodules and the accurate reporting of testicular and penile neoplasms to ensure that all knowledge required for diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making is available. The key information is presented in straightforward tables for ease of reference. This book, which includes more than 250 full-color photos, is not only a valuable resource for surgical pathologists and pathology residents but also an important reference tool for all clinicians who care for patients with genitourinary tract tumors.
