I used this for the anaesthesia primary exam and found it to be excellent.

I disagree with many of the other reviews that it is too long or wordy – I seriously question how many physiology texts they have used as this is far better than most. This was almost my sole reference for renal physiology and it was easy to read cover-to-cover. There are plenty of simple diagrams and a handful of table and schematics for key concepts. It’s very easy to find and quickly read specific topics when it comes to revision, which is a big strength for exams.

If you want to learn basic renal physiology almost entirely from diagrams then this is not your book – you should probably just be using the internet. If you want concise and accurate explanations of all the important aspects of renal physiology in a short and easy-to-read book, then buy this.

Reviews

It’s structured like any other typical Elsevier nursing textbook. Each topic is broken up into sections that correspond to the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, etc.). Psych nursing isn’t my favorite specialty, so I personally find it boring to read. But overall, it’s not a bad textbook.
