For the most part the at a glance books are the same formula. A page of text on one side, a full page drawn graphic on the other side. However, on many topics I find that they are too superficial lacking the depth to make them true study aids and instead acting as broad strokes overviews of any given topic. That said, if you want to have an idea about a given system without the depth of Guyton & Hall, or you want more pictures to help you understand a subject, they are useful.
