Description

Head and Neck Cancer: Management and Reconstruction, 2nd Edition by Eric M. Genden masterfully blends two lauded Thieme books, Reconstruction of the Head and Neck, focusing on defect repair, and Head and Neck Cancer, a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach to treatment. A significant increase in the incidence of oropharyngeal cancer in the U.S. and other countries, especially among men, is attributed to high-risk subtypes of the human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV associated tonsillar cancer and base of tongue cancer account for 90% of all oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma. Internationally renowned authors share the latest knowledge on HPV and other causes of head and neck cancers, from diagnosis to cutting-edge treatments.

Description

Step-By-Step Approach to Endoscopic Cadaveric Dissection: Paranasal Sinuses and the Ventral Skull Base elucidates on Dr Janakiram’s “15 Commandments,” which are the fundamental surgical principles he and his students follow for endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery. Following these principles makes endonasal endoscopic surgery safe, effective and relatively trouble-free. The unique feature of Dr Janakiram’s approach is, as eminent neurosurgeon Dr Roman Boร…ยกnjak explains, positioning his knowledge and experience from his difficult skull base surgery cases into cadaveric dissection lessons. Thus, the most significant aspect of this approach is the learning and message that even experienced surgeons and authors cannot dodge the hard work required in the dissection lab.

Description

Precision medicine is rapidly becoming the standard-of-care for the treatment of cancer patients. This is made possible, in part, by the ready availability and reasonable costs of comprehensive DNA and RNA sequencing assays. However, precision medicine is complex and incorporates entirely new types of data and treatment paradigms that are outside of the training of most oncologists in practice today.

Anesthesia Secrets is my go to book for the beginning of CA1. It tells you all of the key information you really need to know for each topic. Nearly all topics are covered. Obviously you can spend many hours reading any one of countless topics, but when you’re starting out, that simply isn’t an option. You need to know the key things for all things very quickly. Secrets helps me to do that. When I was previously studying ENT, the Secrets version of that was also fantastic. Can’t recommend this series highly enough.
