⭐Updated, full colour must have for any undergraduate student in the third year beautiful presentation, concise, greatly illustrated. Beautiful line diagrams, although I personally don’t appreciate the coloured line diagrams, but all in all this book is a Godsend for anyone who wants to pass the third year with a real understanding of opthal, and please don’t feel threatened by the previous statement, the language of the book is so lucid but yet just descriptive enough to impress the examiner, and the photographs of the book are an excellent memory aid, so much so that a topic once done should remain in memory of the student for a lifetime,or at least till the exams are done. The only shortcoming of this book is that there no MCQs at the end of the end of the chapters. It is the suitable alternative to Khurana and Pearson’s opthal textbooks, but buy Khurana for the sake of the MCQs,so take it from me this book along with the practical textbook by the same brilliant author will make you a force to be reckoned with

⭐This book is very good quality.. This book is my favorite book. This is written very easy languages… This is very helpful for every students.. I am very happy happy happy……

⭐Book. Is. Very. Easy. Got. Delivered. The. Next. Day. But I. Feel. They. Gave. Old piece but. Overall. Product is good. Thanks amazon

Description

Excerpt from Essentials of Refraction The motif and subject matter of this little book is sheerly and solely refraction. It makes no pretense of being an exhaustive treatise on optics or a text book of diseases of the eye. These departments properly per tain to’the eye specialist, for whom this book was not written. But unfortunately they have drawn after them the simpler practice of refraction, and it is this consideration which has led the author to present the essentials of the latter subject in a separate and dis tinct form. ⭐Don’t be fooled. This textbook has NO paediatric ophthalmology in it! It is essentially a neuro-ophthalmology manual. To it’s credit, it has very up-to-date information and the “highlighted text box” style makes it easy to read.

Evidence-based Approach in Cataract Surgery 1st Edition (2005) by Jay Bhopi PDF

Ebook Info

  • Published: 2005
  • Number of pages: 176 pages
  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 1.05 MB
  • Authors: Jay Bhopi

Description

It is absolutely necessary that the practising ophthalmologist bases clinical and surgical decisions on valid data rather than simply on intuition, hearsay or peer-practice, although this is not to denigrate either one’s own opinion or those of colleagues. Evidence-based medicine helps to improve clinical or surgical practice by evaluating the quality of clinical evidence and ensuring that only the best evidence from clinical research is used in the management of individual outcomes. Given that cataract patients may experience infection and complications it is best if the surgeon is on top of the current literature for prevention. Moreover, the surgeon should be au fait with the latest phacoemulsification techniques as well as advances in lens material and design. This marvellous publication covers all aspects of cataract surgery succinctly and provides the reader with enough guidance for best patient outcomes.

⭐Hat’s off to Dr Peter Kertes and Dr T Mark Johnson for bringing together a great group of authors and then editing this amazing and unique resource that should be a part of every resident and staff ophthalmologist’s library. I freely state my bias having recently co-authored a paper with Dr Peter Kertes targeted to ophthalmic para professionals soon to be published in Eye Care Review titled “The Medical Managements of Wet Age Related Macular Degeneration, A Special Review for Ophthalmic Para Professionals” , and my connection to Dr Emily Chew, a fellow Torontonian and author of the foward to this ophthalmic staple. I have also recommended the chapter by Dr Sanjay Sharma to undergraduate summer research students just being introduced to medcial study design and outcome measures. For my peers, this book should be of interest to those who wish to come to a better understanding of how treatment modalities are selected on a case by case basis, as every ground breaking study is highlighted and explained in language that will be uderstood, even for their level. I have come to a better understanding of the value of learning through reading and writing from Peter Kertes, a natural born writer being the brother of Joseph Kertes whose newest work of fiction “Gratitude” (Penguin Group Canada) has recently been published.Gail ForsterOphthalmic Medical TechnicianSunnybrook Health Sciences Center-Department of Ophthalmology, Retina ServiceChair-Ophthalmic Assistants and Technicians Section, Academy of Ophthalmic EducationEditor-in-Chief-Eye Care Review, Ophthalmic Para Professionals Section
