⭐This is a wonderful, simple intro to the field of ophthalmology. I like that it is written by doctors but is simple enough for a child to understand and also complex enough for an adult to also learn and enjoy. I really like that at the end of the book there is a vocabulary section and a question and answer section in the back to review what you learned in the book. It’s done really well. The book is kind of pricey for a paperback but I think it is worth it for the knowledge.

⭐My son went to the eye doctor for the first time several months ago and he declared after we left that he was going to be an eye doctor (and still says it to this day). This book is perfect for young kids to learn the basics of the eye!

⭐Probably too advanced for my 2-year-olds, but I sure learned a lot! My kids do love all the colorful pictures and they will grow into this book soon enough. Lots of great information that really teaches kids how the eye works. Love the last few pages that show pictures of how people with cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration see the world. The diagrams are educational and the illustrations are gorgeous. Wish this book was around when I was a kid!

⭐The authors’ ability to put complex medical ideas into simple explanations and illustrations is amazing. I love that I am learning with my nephew as I am reading these books to him. I even showed the books to my mom (who has mild cataracts), and she also loved it and said these books are valuable for adults as well! Kudos to the authors!

⭐I have several nephews who will be starting school soon and I am always trying to find educations gifts that will spark their curiosity and promote a love for learning. I think this definitely fits the bill! This book is well-written and beautifully illustrated. It’s also impressively informative for a picture . I don’t think I learned about how nearsightedness and farsightedness worked until high school! Will be looking forward to seeing more books like this in other medical specialties.

⭐It wasn’t that great. My kids lost interest quickly. The illustrations and printing weren’t too professional.

⭐If you are looking for a book for kids to learn about medicine early, I would highly recommend this book. They broke it down into the basic concept, which is kid-friendly content. 100% highly recommend!

⭐As an MD myself (though not in dermatology), I really appreciate all the detail that went into the diagrams, including different anatomical cross sections of the eye. I think it will take reading this book several times to my son for all the new words to really “stick.” There’s so much great information! My son’s favorite page is the picture of the retina — he says it looks like mars!! Will read this book over and over again to my son until he knows it all
