In Focus Ophthalmology is aimed at all medical and health science students who require an introductory, low cost and highly illustrated guide to this specialty. The material is presented in double page spreads. The left-hand page has a synoptic and highly structured text (normally under the following headings: incidence; clinical features; differential diagnosis; management; prognosis). The right-hand page has a selection of four to six clinical photographs.. Ophthalmology In Focus is a convenient pocket size and therefore ideal for quick preparation before ward rounds. Each volume also includes self-assessment material, which is extremely helpful for preparation for examinations.Because of shorter hospital stays and more outpatient treatment, students are less likely to be able to see the full range of conditions on the ward – the books in this series help supply that deficitInvaluable source of clinical photographs – students are now less able to be have the opportunity to see – in real life – the full range of conditions that they are expected to know about and that they may be tested onSynoptic structured text – ideal for quick preparation before ward roundsIncludes self-assessment material – picture tests – handy for revision, especially for the all-important ‘OSCE’New series name: In FocusNew series designTest revised to include more on managementPicture tests included in each volume for first time

⭐I’m an optometry student and I love being able to have a really quick summarized page to jog my memory about each condition. I’ve suggested it to all my classmates.

⭐I love books with pictures! This great little book has lots of great photos that will prove useful in clinical work for non-ophthalmologists and for physicians-in-training , as well as in preparation for those pesky board exams. It is extremely well organized and concise, yet (for me anyways) it seems to cover all of the important highlights, and does so in a very memorable way. However, it only gives generalized treatment information, so a drug reference or other additional book would be needed for specific medication dosing. For me, as an internist, this is perfect. Happy reading!

⭐Great clinical resource absolute must have in the test room or hospital setting.Gives you just the facts and useful when with patients.Seller was webuybooks and they were great, very fast dispatch, received within a couple of days.Thank you very much

⭐I have used this book as revision for my final exams for Optometry because the pictures are decent and it really gives you a quick overview of important eye conditions. This is not to be used in isolation however as it is very brief in terms of content. It is ideal for reading on the train/ quick revision purposes. The book was delivered fast and was in good condition too.

⭐Brilliant price on this really useful book!very handy and excellent quality photos. The book was received quickly and is in great condition

⭐my friend loved it

Trauma to the eye and associated structures account for a significant number of combat-related injuries, and combat ocular trauma has steadily risen in frequency over the last century. ⭐Let me start off by explaining this book is literally like someone converted a powerpoint into a book format and then change only half the bullet points into sentences so it keeps things slightly too basic and doesn’t give a good comprehensive back ground. It has a only the very classical findings and classical stuff you would need to know for your general medical education.I felt the book was overly simplistic however I had several years of ophthalmology experience before medical school. The other AIs at my school who hadn’t had that experience felt it would have served them better when they rotated through on their 2 weeks of surgery rotation but as AIs it was too brief of a book. I feel that it’s similar to paying for the material that ophthobook already can give you for free.I had higher hopes for this book it was recommended by 2 people from classes above me but i’m not going to pass on the recommendation. This book would provide the most help if you are a medical student and want to know if you are interested in ophthalmology. The books i have found most important and useful are these:For the beginner: Ophthobook.comFor the ED resident/general practicioner: Basic Ophthalmology, 9th ed. by Richard A. Harper MDFor the Acting Intern wanting to impress on you rotations: parsons Diseases of the eyeFor reference and quick guide during the day: Wills eye manual

⭐As someone who was using the 1976 version of this book (which is still an excellent problem oriented brief guide), I was looking for more depth and account of modern techniques which this book provides perfectly. A little more details on expected outcomes and ultimate prognoses of visual problems would be useful.

⭐Very quick delivery, much appreciated! Thank you

⭐I’m currently doing an optometry degree and it is so helpful for my diseases module! Great pictures and explained in understandable wording.

⭐ALTHOUGHT I AM OPTOMETRIST OF LONG STANDING I FIND THIS NOTES VERY HELPFUL AND HANDY FOR QUICK REFERANCE. VERY GOOD WITH Q&A.

Description

Product DescriptionThe Ophthalmic Scribe Manual is the ultimate how-to manual for learning to scribe in ophthalmology. If you’re interested in learning more about scribing in retina, cornea, comprehensive, glaucoma, or oculoplastics, this manual has you covered. Inside, you will find over 100 full-color figures and tables illustrating the most important concepts, Anatomy & Physiology, organized high-yield abbreviations, must know medications, must know imaging modalities, and high-yield specialty-specific pathology.About the AuthorAfter graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and prior to enrolling in medical school, my job search brought me back home to Atlanta where I accepted a position as an Ophthalmic Medical Scribe. I had no prior experience as a scribe or in the healthcare field, but I knew that quickly improving my understanding of ophthalmology would be essential for my success.I searched the web to obtain every piece of relevant ophthalmology information that I could find, and I spent hours experimenting with the functionalities of the eye clinic’s electronic medical record to better prepare myself for my new role. However, I found that it took a significant amount of time and effort to sift through the excessive online information before I was able to hone in on the relevant material.Due to the lack of designated ophthalmic medical scribe training resources and the vast amount of irrelevant information online, I decided that the creation of The Ophthalmic Scribe Manual was warranted. With over 3 years of scribing experience and over 20,000 patient encounters, as well as having published a variety of first author case reports and review articles in prominent ophthalmic medical journals, I am confident that my experiences will offer an immediate benefit to those seeking to excel in this rewarding profession.Review”Very well-written! This looks terrific and will be great for widespread use particularly in training programs, especially with the growing need for trained ophthalmic personnel.”

⭐This is a stellar reference book for quickly picking up the knowledge needed to be either an ophthalmic technician or scribe. It’s the best backbone of knowledge to piggyback further lines of questioning from. Every seasoned veteran in the office freaked out when I brought it in. Everything from equipment and high yield abbreviations to pictures of the eye drops, testing/imaging, and common disorders. Worth EVERY penny.

⭐I have a healthcare background but not in ophthalmology. I started as a Scribe in an eye surgery setting a few months ago. This book was a great resource of information for me to be prepared for what I was walking into. I’ve referred back to it regularly as I train. Highly recommend!

⭐Just received this in the mail and read through it. So much information and easy to follow. I’ve been a scribe and tech for 7 years and it covered everything you could need to know. Wish I had this when I started in ophthalmology.

⭐Great book.

⭐Comes in handy for todays ophthalmic scribe or tech. Very informative.

⭐If you are learning to scribe buy the book! This thing is amazing. Came fast, perfect condition. The information in it is absolutely EVERYTHING you need and more. Worth every single penny!

⭐This book is an invaluable resource for not just ophthalmic scribes, but for the entire ophthalmic team! It is so detailed with being concise and to the point, really focusing where it counts. A friend of mine, also a COA, bought a copy 5 minutes after skimming through mine!

⭐This book is amazing. It is definitely filled with information about the eye. I am a registered nurse in a neonatal intensive care unit where vision development begins and is a very important aspect in care of the babies. Excellent, easy to read format.

⭐Straightforward book. Covers a lot of the basics to prepare you for a rotation, without getting lost in the weeds.

⭐None of us would make it through medic al school without this book. The new version is even better than the old one I used for decades.

⭐The book is well written and straight to the point. Perfect for FP/IM clinical needs. The CD is great and has plenty of information that would otherwise require a lot more time to find.

⭐HelpfulHelps me to understand ophthalmology better.Good illustrations and explanationsCD is also good somewhat graphicOverall pretty good

⭐Very informative book for a person who knew nothing about the human eye.

⭐Pros: easy to read, good and simple illustrations, everything you need without excess fuss (from a medical school perspective, not as a specialist)Cons: Clinical photographs would be appreciated. Not to be depended upon as an exhaustive resource. Fewer funny and memorable images for those used to “Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple”.Would recommend for second year medical education classes as well as boards review.

⭐I bought this for my 13 year old grandson who expressed interest in ophthalmology.

⭐My son is looking into Opthalmology as his career, and I wanted to find something that explains it in layman’s terms not a medical book. This is a great one!

⭐I’m a med student and this was a great quick read before my ophthalmology rotation

⭐Comes with a DVD which is really useful. My teenager was really happy with this book as this is her passion.

⭐Fab book for work

⭐Comprehensive and easy to understand. A bit basic, but covers everything important. Lack of color pages is a shame, but not a big problem.
