⭐This book is amazing for the fourth year medical student trying to prepare for away rotations. As for use in residency, I would suspect it will make a nice quick reference guide for exam techniques that first couple of months.-MS4

⭐This is a pretty decent book to start off your ophthalmology career. I found it useful as my first ophtho book to build a foundation. Would recommend reading this during intern year or at very beginning of residency. Doesn’t really have a role after that and could use more pictures.

⭐Quick, expected quality,The book was recommended at a hospitalIt would be nice to find in every book the date of issue, it is not possible now.

⭐As an incoming ophthalmology resident, this has provided a great introduction to the field and I would recommend it to others.

⭐The book was sealed well!

⭐This book was recommended by some current ophthalmology residents. It covers many of the exam techniques and commonly used equipment and tests.I doubt I will use it that much moving forward through residency as it covers the basics, but it provided a decent foundation prior to starting residency.

⭐very good, but it does not have a whole lot of detail so you will find yourself needing more info during your 4th year electives

⭐Very dry and difficult to understand if you are a beginner. This text was recommended to me by the representative who sold me a Maestro 2 OCT. I learned very little from this text except that I need to find a different book. It does describe the different layers of the retina very completely. It then says they can be too thin or too thick and lists the diseases which might cause those conditions.

⭐I used this book for learning how to read OCT as I am a new screener.

⭐Very good book with fantastic illustrations. Great for beginners and to review regularly.

PRACTICAL GUIDE TO VIVA AND OSCE IN OPHTHALMOLOGY EXAMINATIONS 1st Edition (2018) by Tien Yin Wong PDF

Ebook Info

  • Published: 2018
  • Number of pages: 260 pages
  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 6.66 MB
  • Authors: Tien Yin Wong

Description

Practical Guide to VIVA and OSCE in Ophthalmology Examinations is an essential study guide presented in a direct, exam-style question-and-answer format. It combines detailed explanations with high quality clinical photographs tailor-made to help readers ace specialist oral examinations (MMed, MRCS, FRCS, FRCOphth, FAMS, FRANZCO). Co-authored by ophthalmology trainees who took the final MMed and FRCOphth (Oral) in 2016 and 2017, this is a book written by trainees, for trainees, with prominent author contribution by Prof Wong Tien Yin. This book provides invaluable guidance to readers in presenting their answers in a logical, succinct and elegant manner.Practical Guide to VIVA and OSCE in Ophthalmology Examinations aims to complement the book titled The Ophthalmology Examinations Review by Prof Tien Yin Wong to guide candidates onto the path of success in examinations. This book illustrates the answering techniques employed during examinations, utilizing clinical photographs accompanied by a full template answer script of various high yield conditions. The style and format has been intentionally designed to simulate examination conditions and to provide candidates with ample practice in preparation for the examination. Most major ophthalmic degrees require trainees to take and pass an oral ophthalmic exam. This book fills a significant void in the market for ophthalmic training, where texts combining clinical photos and actual exam answering techniques are severely lacking. Readers will be able to follow the answering techniques and examples provided within the book so as to better cope with the clinical exams. Readership: University students and course facilitators.
