Description

I was exposed to the benefits and potential of OrthoK in the infancy of my optometric career. This
book is dedicated to those who shaped my initial interest in OrthoK many, many years ago through
their insight, innovation, clinical skills and persistence.
Robert Barabas
Irving Adler
Richard Wlodyga
They would not recognize the state of OrthoK we are practicing today.
Special gratitude goes to my wife Judy who has been with me while in optometry school and for the
duration of my optometric career. She always recognized that my work was my mistress. She has
endured my passionate affair with Optometry and patient care which at times overflowed into our
personal time and home life.

Atlas of Cataract Surgery (2008) by K Ravi Kumar Reddy PDF

Ebook Info

  • Published: 2008
  • Number of pages: 196
  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 9,89 MB
  • Authors: K Ravi Kumar Reddy

Description

Ophthalmology entered its golden period and continues to be in it ever since Prof. Harold Ridley invented IOL implantation. All of us have seen a sea of changes taking place in the art of cataract surgery in last 2 decades. Indian surgeons have earned a great respect internationally for their surgical skills and innovations. The backlog of cataract blindness in our country has been so successfully tackled by our surgeons and NGOs that our volume practice is appreciated by all. We are the world leaders in this aspect and many countries look up to us to guide them and train them in this regard. Most of us in our country have to play a dual role of running a private clinic and do some community outreach programme. Hence naturally it is necessary to keep a perfect blend of SICS and Phaco in our practice. It is indeed a task keeping track of all the new innovations happening in the technology of the machine and procedures. Very often when you have learnt and mastered one step or procedure its time for learning a new one. Taking all these things into consideration Dr. Ravi Kumar Reddy for whom I have greatest respect as a good clinician, administrator and a fine human being, has come out with an excellent Atlas on Cataract Surgery which is specially aimed at helping upcoming ophthalmologist and ophthalmology in transition. There are books of such types written by foreign authors, but what is important is that this book is written by one of us and it is easy for us to relate to his way of thinking. He is fully aware of ground realities and the type of difficulties doctor faces in his/her stressful transition. Dr. Reddy has taken pains to look at this subject from all the angles so as to make it useful and practical. I congratulate him on taking up this important task in spite of his tight schedule to help postgraduates and ophthalmologists in transition. Finally I strongly recommend this book to anybody who wants to improve his cataract surgery. Suhas Haldipurkar

Textbook of Ophthalmology 1st Edition by Sunita Agarwal Jaypee (Vol 1) (2002) by Sunita Agarwal PDF

Description

It is indeed an honor to write a foreword to this informative four volume ophthalmology textbook because of my great respect for the Agarwal family and their many accomplishments. Amar Agarwal and his co-authors combine very busy clinical practice with indigent patient care, high quality teaching and research. This combination provides the clinical frame of reference so necessary for this type of publication. I was pleased to learn that the techniques discussed are cost effective and efficient which is essential in all medical practice environments in the new millennium. All the contributors are recognized experts in their areas and have provided current, high quality information. Amar Agarwal, my friend and former fellow, provides the unique perspective of having trained in vitreoretinal surgery, cataract surgery and refractive surgery. The international representation ensures that a broad array of techniques, technologies and approaches will be presented. The illustrations are superb and provide a video-like quality, enabling visualization of surgical technique. I am sure that residents, fellows, practitioners and teachers alike will find this series very valuable. Steve Charles USA
