I purchased 3 different endocrinology books before this one. I had about decided that endocrinologists were practicing a black art– but this book is very nicely written and very understandable for the medical student, physician or endocrinologist to be. Or in my case, the graduate Veterinarian. Not for the Amman, though one who is very persistent will probably find this informational. If you have the background this will open new worlds to your study of disease.

[PDF] Atlas of Endoscopy with Narrow Band Imaging (2015) by Manabu Muto and Kenshi Yao

Ebook Info

  • Published: 2015
  • Number of pages:
  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 38.78 MB
  • Authors: Manabu Muto and Kenshi Yao

Description

With its focus on narrow band imaging, this book is an excellent reference for new as well as experienced practitioners in the field of endoscopy. Narrow band imaging has brought about a revolutionary improvement in diagnostic endoscopy, enabling objective diagnosis and precise detection of lesions. It has enhanced the capability of endoscopy to facilitate qualitative diagnoses for the great benefit of patients who undergo endoscopic examinations. However, a standardized system of classification has not yet been established and many clinicians and researchers are not yet highly skilled in utilizing the technique or interpreting the images that are produced. This atlas addresses those issues, providing clear, simple and easy-to-understand descriptions illustrated with generous use of endoscopic images.

The material laid out in the book’s chapters is organized to facilitate learning, understanding, and retention of the meaning of important concepts, key terms, and properties of drugs. The discussions of topics are short, making for “easier swallowing” of small bites of information. And the authors use visual aids such as charts and tables to present data. ~Laxmi Chaandi

I bought this book to study for the CT registry. I was not sure if it covered all the anatomy that may be asked on the registry. When i was in the radiography program, we studied in detail every bone and every part of that bone. An example of this book is when talking about facial bones, it simply states mandible. It does not mention ramus, mandibular fossa, symphysis ect… This makes it easier to learn of course by not have alot of small detailed anatomy to memorize but i’m not sure that this is a good thing. Also, it could include longer tests, and maybe some diagram labeling.

-This being photographs of real bodies means that you see all of the tissue types in every image, and they are well labeled. I find it easier to remember what nerve or artery supplies a given muscle if I can see them both at the same time, which many regular texts don’t do, at least not often enough.
