Description

Before I say anything about this book, I offer for your consideration the fact that I am not a student of biochemistry; I am a physics graduate student. My desire to learn about biochemistry had nothing to do with receiving any sort of degree. Then consider the fact that this is the only Amazon.com review I have ever written. These facts alone should tell you that I must have found this book pretty remarkable. This text was required for all three of the biochemistry classes I took as an undergraduate student, and it never let me down. It contains a positively HUGE amount of information, which Nelson and Cox have somehow managed to digest and present for the layperson in a way that is both engaging and understandable. The writing style is superb, and the visual aids are numerous and of exceptionally high quality. How many times while cramming for the next day’s test at 3:00 am have you caught yourself reading material that isn’t even covered on the exam, just because it’s interesting? I

Although there are many texts that provide quality information for the identification of fungi, researchers and technologists rarely have time to read the text. Most are rushed for time and seek morphological information that helps guide them to the identification of fungi.

[PDF] Dermatology Skills For Primary Care An Illustrated Guide (2010) by Daniel J. Trozak

Ebook Info

  • Published: 2010
  • Number of pages:
  • Format: PDF
  • File Size: 34.78 MB
  • Authors: Daniel J. Trozak

Description

The diagnosis and treatment of common dermatologic problems is a critical area of skill and knowledge for primary care physicians. According to the US Department of 1 Health and Human Services, patients present to their physicians a skin rash as their chief concern for nearly 12 million office visits each year. In 73% of these office visits, patients see their internist, family physician, or pediatrician. In this respect, astonishingly, primary care clinicians see far more skin disease in their offices than dermatologists. Dermatology Skills for Primary Care: An Illustrated Guide advances the targeted skill and knowledge base of primary care physicians, as well as the collaboration between dermatologists and primary care physicians, by its wise choice of organization, scope, and approach. Dermatology Skills for Primary Care: An Illustrated Guide by Drs. Trozak, Tennenhouse, and Russell is an important addition to the dermatology literature because it has been written collaboratively by a skilled dermatologist and two excellent academic family physicians. As such, the book superbly targets the depth and scope of needs of primary care practitioners in the field of dermatology.

Well put together and up to date with a challenging array of questions and thorough explanations. Haven’t had any chance to get feedback in the form of ABSITE/Mock Orals since I’ve bought it, but I’m betting my scores will be up. Kudos to the authors of this one.

This book will not teach you How To Do It Yourself as some have feared would be the case. It simply gives you a great overview of what to expect from a professional (“AcuPro”) when you go. It does give some examples of what to do for some things and in that is extremely helpful. Very well written and easy to understand!
