Description

In its Seventh Edition, this acclaimed Clinical Chemistry continues to be the most student-friendly clinical chemistry text available. This edition not only covers the how of clinical testing but also places greater emphasis on the what, why, and when in order to help today’s students fully understand the implications of the information covered, as well as the applicability of this crucial topic in practice. With clear explanations that strike just the right balance of analytic principles, techniques, and correlation of results with disease states, this edition has been fully updated with the latest information to help keep today’s students at the forefront of today’s science. New case studies, practice questions, and exercises provide ample opportunities to review and apply the topics covered through the text.

Reviews

I used this book’s prior edition as a resident but didn’t buy it b/c I knew a newer edition was in the works. The newer edition is lighter (on account of using thinner paper) but has better pictures and is including the highlight review points now seen in other Elsevier titles (Foundation series). The expert consult (aka online feature) is a good bonus when you don’t have the book around but in my experience, accessing it has sometimes been cumbersome (server issues?). If you have to decide between this and the baby DeMay, I recommend this one as the DeMay is still too wordy in my opinion. Plus if you are headed towards a cyto fellowship the last chapter makes sense of all that lab administration lingo they test on cyto boards.

This is a very instructive book showcasing the techniques used by masters in rhinoplasty to achieve good results…The editors achieved the difficult task of getting 68 contributors from the eminent centres in USA to write 38 chapters in more 500 well presented glossy pages with clear illustrattions of the different techniques used to address the common nasal deformities…This is a book that I would recommend for any trainee who is going to pursue a career in facial palstic surgery and for consultants wishing to pick up useful tips and tricks to use if they face a significant deformity in the nose.
