If you are preparing for your residency exams or you are already in your clinical practice as gynecology and obstetrics resident, you have to buy this book! It’s very complete, although it’s not a big textbook like Williams, you can find the information quickly and this is perfect for the specific residency exams. I recommend u buy it. The best was I got this book for $50.00 less than in my country. The delivery was fast and the condition of the book was excellent.

Description

Endocrine disruption represents one of the most controversial environmental issues of our time. Mounting evidence stemming from more than 10 years of experimental, epidemiological and clinical studies has transformed the once generally discounted subject of endocrine disruptors into an issue of tremendous concern not only within the scientific community but among society as a whole. Following initial evidence from basic research, endocrine disruption in humans has now emerged as a major medical challenge. In this respect, puberty, a crucial developmental stage, has been definitively identified as a key window of vulnerability with regard to endocrine disruptors. Written by leading authorities in the field, Endocrine Disruptors and Puberty offers an engaging and comprehensive overview of this fascinating and rapidly growing problem. An indispensable resource for all clinicians and scientists interested in this challenging endocrinologic topic, Endocrine Disruptors and Puberty is a timely contribution that will help navigate a path toward understanding the problem and developing solutions.

I’m not saying this book is bad in any way โ€” it isn’t. Rather, I just don’t feel it’s necessary for most medical students. I read First Aid and always felt the Embryology of each section was probably dumbed down โ€” surely you couldn’t reduce embryology of the heart to a few pages? Well, you can… as long as your goal is to cover only material that’s highest yield and most relevant for medical school (and more particularly, the Step 1).

The cheese and onion is the go-to clinical text for medical students and junior doctors alike. The kindle version of this book means that you can take the handbook around with you on you phone, and not have to worry about yet another item to carry around (and lose!) on the wards. I cannot rave about this book enough, it has a comprehensive guide to all the main clinical specialties, and is written in a way which is both concise and informative whilst remaining interesting and readable.

Reviews

The topics are definitely high yield, but it seems that this book skipped the editing process. There are numerous typos and the syntax is poor. The text is littered with abbreviations that have not first been defined. It feels like the folks at case files were more interested at getting this book to the publisher quickly than making sure it was well written. It stands in contrast to the well written 3rd and 4th editions of the other case files books.
